Yona Friedman Ceramic City
Interactive VR Experience
In 2002, as part of the second Biennale of Ceramics, the architect Yona Friedman (Budapest, 1923) created, thanks to the Ceramiche di San Giorgio di Albissola, his ideal city to inspire young generations of artists, architects, musicians, designers . This city was brought to life in VR.
The Ceramic City project was created through an interpretation for the VR of Friedmann's ceramic city created by Omar Tonella, in which the user can activate different choices to change scenery. The user begins his journey in the Savona Ceramics Museum where the city of ceramics is exposed to the public and then enters its virtual reproduction.
During the journey, the user activates Friedmann's voice which mixes with a 360 ° sound setting made by the ceramist Jorge Fernandez, who plays musical instruments made of ceramic, giving the path a mystical and futuristic atmosphere.
